Harvesting of Benenese cashew crop 2011 is almost complete while south Indian harvesting season is approaching its completion. In February and March, Indian crop was almost a total failure and in April, it looked good. But in this month, yield seems to be once again a disappointment both in size and quality. In our estimation, Indian cashew crop for this season may not cross 450000 tons. Vietnamese are expecting only 350000 tons from their season. Benenese harvest suffered by heavy floods but weather condition is highly favourable to Ivory Coast. According to some reports, Ivorian cashew season is highly successful and their harvest will be more than 400000 tons. But in our view, their crop size will not reach the target due to ther internal war and quality will also come down if their export shipments delayed. Only time will tell the actual figure.
