Wage Hike in Cashew Sector

There is revision of  minimum wages in India and Vietnam. In Kerala, the hike is said to be around 30%, which will be effective from Feb 2011.  In other states of India, the increase in dearness allowance may be around 15%, which will come in to effect from  April 2011. Increase in minimum wages will always have its impact on the market. Because of severe raw cashew shortage, raw cashew seller can not bear this cost. So, processors  have to rise their kernel prices to cover this additional cost.
