Trends due to Globalization

Indian first crop quality may fall below market expectations because of some heavy showers in Kerala, Tamil Nadu and south interior Karnataka. Raw cashew market may not see any kind of  ‘April Dance’ like situation this year as bulk buyers are moving away from these rain prone area.

Brazilians may import 125000-150000 Tons in this calendar year.

West African traders are cashing these favorable conditions but they should consider the following factors –

1) Wages will increase in India from  1st April, 2013.

2) Indian pieces, splits and lower grades market is now under the shadow of globalization.

2) Indian and Brazilian processors are losing heavily as the raw cashew price in Vietnam is almost equal to or just above the West African first crop raw cashewnuts (C&F).
