Activity May Return in West African Raw Cashew

According to some trade sources, current raw cashew stock position in West Africa is about 80000-100000 Tons. But the raw cashew market is still stagnant, despite some improvements in the kernel market. Lack of processing interest in Vietnam, volatile Forex, volatile kernel and some quality related issues are the main challenges in the west African cashew trade. However –

1) the asking rate for the Indonesian Flores quality is beyond the reach of the market.

2) Indians have the processing and importing capacity and global buyers are also gradually moving toward India for the bulk and long-term supply.

3) West African stockists should fix prices according to the quality and market conditions.
