Kernel buyers are aware of the raw cashew shortage but the slide in the Brazilian Real is also a market influencing factor. Harvesting surge throughout the last-crop areas of Brazil may beat earlierĀ forecasts but the total crop-size can not beĀ ascertained even at this stage.

This year’s weather conditions are favorable to Brazil(?) and Tanzania; However, the Indonesian harvest seems to be a big failure.

Severe raw cashew shortage is a reality in India and Vietnam. Importers and processors should prepare themselves for the reality; through proper inventory management, cost control and planned selling.
