IS IT THE ABRUPT END TO THE INDIAN HARVEST 2019?

No, the last crop harvest is still in its flowering stage in the most important southern region.

Rich farmers of the western region are not collecting the fallen nuts because of the unworkable price. They collect the nuts only once in a week or fortnight. During the collection, they even cut most tender nuts to immediately close the entire harvest!

In some farms where the owner has stopped the collection, cattle and other animals spoil the fallen nuts. Then the soil itself is the consumer of these waste nuts! State governments may overstate the figure of harvest but the final figure will be much less considering all such wastes.

Indian farmer gets more income in fresh fruits and vegetables. He gets nearly Rs100/kilo for fresh fruits which contain 90% water whereas he is not getting Rs100/kilo for raw cashew which contains only 7-8 percent removable moisture.
