Situation in Ivory Coast has worsened further as rebel groups closed in on president’s palace but Govt forces suddenly consolidated their position and succeeded in pushing them back. This development is now considered as a setback for the rebel group. So, raw cashew nut containers  may not enter the ports of Ivory Coast in the next 3-4 weeks. It will take at-least two weeks or even more when calm returns to the country. According to trade sources, heavy rain during the growth period has damaged Benin’s April cashew crop.
