Crop Size is Good in Kerala But Not Quality

Daily arrivals of raw cashew has improved in Kerala state but the improvement is very slow in Karnataka, Goa and Maharashtra. Traders are worried about the quality downfall in Kerala raw cashew due to unseasonal and unexpected rains during the very beginning of this year’s new crop. Driage is said to be 8%-9% and slightly more than average SW, SSW and DW grade kernels. So, big and medium processors are not buying on large scale basis. Indian cashew kernel market is quiet because of cricket world cup, fiscal new year (banking) and calendar new year (festival).
