At present, Indian cashew crop 2011 does not look very bright. Early crop which arrives in February-March is almost completely damaged. The total Indian crop during this March, in our estimation, is not more than 30000 tons. This is just 5% of the six lac ton annual crop. March, April, and May (first half) are the most important months for the Indian as well as global cashew harvest. According Vietnamese reports, their annual crop will be short by about 20%. Brazilians also need huge imports for next 6-7 months.
