Crisis in Raw Cashew Market
Raw cashew prices are falling in India and Vietnam. Cash crunch, unworkable situation and decreasing quality are the reasons for the collapse. The price of white raw cashew is ₹135/kilo but the color-dim quality 1s available around ₹125/kilo in India.
Price of slight rain damaged quality is around ₹90/kilo in Vietnam but there is no bulk availability. Highly rain damaged nuts are available around ₹40-60/ kilo but the cutting out-turn is said to be only 25-26% and the moisture percentage is unpredictable.
Vietnamese industry may face difficulties in their June-July export commitments because of the inventory shortage. Their season has started with high predictions but the end is a disappointment.
Indian exporters may get much better prices during the Ramadan consumption period.
