Cost of Production (March 2011)

Even if the Indian raw cashew prices fall below Rs80 level,  it is costlier than the Tanzanian imports because of moisture content, Vat, APMC cess, transport and drying expenses. So, continually  increasing production cost will further increase in cashew kernel. During March, production cost of W320/pound in India  may be around $4.25 – $4.50 in accordance with factory wise and area wise grading variations. But Vietnam’s domestic  raw cashewnut  prices are cheaper than the Indian domestic rawnuts by $.30/kilo.
